TRSH San Jose Concert reviews
Unlike anything I've ever seen...
An exceptional evening was Night 1, with her band performing a mixture of four Madonna tracks and four Latin tracks as the warm-up act for 30mins before the show. This was no typical Madonna gig, complete with a staggering set and an array of lighting features. She was in the audience three times, spoke to a number of people, told jokes, discussed her career and the album, as well as talking openly about politics and social issues. Her three youngest kids took to the stage too, especially the twins, whilst Lourdes featuring on the video for Frozen, doing a contemporary dance as her mother sang vocals. This was a brilliant artistic piece. Loved every second of the 2.5+ hour show, getting out at 135am.
Last night was Night 2, I saw Madonna's Madame X. I gave a mini-review for Night 1 but after getting back 130am and up at 430,I didn't have time to post. The anecdotes and jokes were different. Her interactions with the crowds were different each night. She performed Papa Don't Preach, La Isla Bonita, Like a Prayer, Express Yourself, Vogue, Rescue Me, Frozen, American Life and 2/3 of the Madame X album. She sang live and seemed to relish in performing, as well as joking with the crowd and talking to a few lucky fans. Three costume changes, there was perhaps 10mins total when she was off-stage over the 2.5 hours! It was absolutely amazing and worth every penny. Mum was thrilled too and thoroughly loved the show. Yay.
Overall, the band, the dancers, everything was perfect and worth the wait. Loved that TRSH's tried something different. It works.
